David Pope, PA-C is a native of Northern Virginia. Growing up in Prince William County, he served his community by volunteering for the fire and rescue service for over fifteen years. David obtained his Associates Degree in Applied Science in Emergency Medicine at Northern Virginia Community College and continued his education at Shenandoah University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Respiratory Care. After working as a Respiratory Therapist for twelve years, in 2009 he attended King’s College in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania where he obtained his Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
David has also worked as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for both Northern Virginia Community College and Shenandoah University in their Respiratory Therapy Programs and continues to be a guest teacher at Shenandoah University for the Physician Assistant Program. David is a Board Certified Physician Assistant and Respiratory Therapist, and is an active member of the Northern Virginia Physician Assistant Society.
David has been part of the Spine Care Center since 2010 and is committed to his patients. If anyone understands chronic pain, it’s David. He brings a unique understanding to his work in pain management due to having his left leg amputated over a decade ago following a traumatic accident. The extensive pain he suffered helps him empathize with his patients. He knows firsthand the agony of constant pain and how debilitating it can be. During his spare time David enjoys being with his wife and two daughters, being outdoors, woodworking and watching football.
